Maury County Fire Responds to Sinking Boat on Duck River, Rescues Two

From Maury County Fire Department’s post

On Thursday, 6/11/26 @ 7:38 PM, MCFD was dispatched to the Duck River at the 145 mile marker for a sinking boat. Two occupants were safely on shore; however, they were located on a cliff face and unable to move. Members launched a boat and also walked in on foot to the area to make contact.

Boat 21 successfully retrieved the two occupants and returned them to the Iron Bridge boat ramp. The half sunken boat is still on the river until it can be retrieved.

In one of the attached images you can see the important role the 911 center plays in transmitting exact locations of the 911 caller to MCFD so that our responders can accurately respond to the correct location via land and water.
