MCFD Responds to Multiple Fires Due to High Winds
On Friday, 3/20, MCFD responded to multiple fires due to high winds.
One of the fires was on Blue Ridge Dr. Responding units: Engines 21 & 32, Tanker 30, Brush 32, and Deputy 20. Engine 21 stretched 200’ of forestry line to contain a brush fire threatening a shed and members dropped two trees to prevent fire spread.
The second fire, which was located on Rippey Lake Rd, was dispatched just as units were clearing from the first incident. Responding units: Engine 21, Tankers 21, 28, 32, Truck 21, Ops 20, Safety 20, Deputy 20, and Mt Pleasant Engine 82 and Asst Chief on auto aid. A brush pile being burned spread to a barn and other surrounding wooded areas. Members contained the fire and dropped several burning trees. No injuries were reported.
