Early Morning Crash Involving Semi Shuts Down Main Street Near Rippa Villa

From Spring Hill Fire Department’s post today…

Shortly before 4:00 this morning, crews responded to a motor vehicle accident on Main Street in front of Rippa Villa Plantation involving a passenger vehicle and a semi truck.

According to initial reports, the semi truck attempted to make a U-turn in the fog when a sedan collided with the passenger side fuel tank of the truck. The impact damaged the tank, requiring crews to safely offload approximately 100 gallons of diesel fuel.

Thankfully, the driver of the sedan sustained only minor injuries and the driver of the semi was not injured.

Main Street was closed northbound for approximately two hours while crews worked to manage the fuel spill and clear the scene.

A big thank you to Maury County Office of Emergency Management for assisting with the safe transfer of the fuel.

Water Main Break Shuts Off Service to Businesses in The Crossings

From City of Spring Hill’s post today (just after 2:00 PM)…

Spring Hill Water crews are responding to a water main break in the Crossings. Water has been shut off to all businesses spanning from Cracker Barrel to AMC Theater.

If you plan to visit a business in that area today, you may want to call ahead to make sure they are open.

Work is expected to take until midnight tonight. If that timeline changes, we will follow up here with updates.
