FeedTN.org Launches to Support Families Affected by Federal Shutdown
As the federal government shutdown continues, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee has announced new statewide efforts to support families affected by disruptions in food assistance programs such as SNAP.
A new website, FeedTN.org, has been launched to help Tennesseans find local food resources, volunteer opportunities, and ways to donate. The platform is part of the Governor’s Faith-Based and Community Initiative, which is coordinating with more than 300 nonprofit and faith leaders across all 95 counties to quickly identify needs and direct support where it’s most needed.
While any unused benefits from previous months remain accessible, new payments may be delayed until federal operations resume.
Governor Lee said that state funds cannot be used to replace federal benefits but emphasized that Tennessee is partnering with local nonprofits, faith communities, and food banks to bridge the gap during this period.
Residents can visit FeedTN.org to locate nearby food assistance, make donations, or sign up to volunteer.
