Maury County Fair Opens Today With Rides, Rodeo, and Family Fun

The Maury County Fair opens its gates today, running through Monday at Maury County Park in Columbia. This year’s fair will bring together family fun, arena shows, live music, and plenty of hometown tradition.
Admission & Hours
Daily admission is $12 for adults and teens, while children under 12 are admitted free. A three-day pass is available for $25. On Friday, “Senior Day” offers free admission for guests 55 and older (midway excluded). Gates open at 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 1 p.m. Saturday, 3 p.m. Sunday and Monday.
Entertainment & Midway
Kissel Entertainment will once again provide the rides and midway games, with plenty of chances to save:
Ride tickets: $2 each or 22 for $40
Armbands: $35 Friday & Saturday, $30 Thursday & Sunday, $25 Monday
Special deal: Thursday armbands are buy one, get one free
Live music will fill the food court from 5–9 p.m. Thursday through Sunday, while food and retail vendors will be set up across the grounds.
Arena Events
Some of the biggest draws of the weekend happen in the arena:
Rodeo – Thursday, 7 p.m. (pre-show 6 p.m.)
Tractor Pull – Friday, 6:30 p.m.
Motocross – Saturday, 6 p.m. (registration 1 p.m., practice 4 p.m.)
Jump ‘N Run – Sunday & Monday, 6:30 p.m.
Pit passes are $12 for Motocross and $25 for Jump ‘N Run (children 6 and under free).
Competitions & Exhibits
The fair will showcase both livestock and home goods competitions all weekend long:
Goat Show – Thursday, 5 p.m. (check-in 3 p.m.)
Beef Show – Friday, 5 p.m. (check-in 1 p.m.)
Chick Chain Show – Saturday, 10 a.m.
Sheep Show – Saturday, 2 p.m. (check-in 9 a.m.)
Swine Show – Monday, 3 p.m. (check-in 8–10 a.m.)
Other highlights include the “Fairest of the Fair” winners’ parade in the arena and the Hot Pepper Eating Contest at 4 p.m. Sunday in the Skillington Barn.
Special Events
“My Day” – Friday, 9 a.m., hosted by the Knights of Columbus, gives disabled youth and their caregivers the chance to enjoy the fair.
“My Day” 5k & 1k – Saturday, 8 a.m. Fundraiser in memory of Will Spiess, benefitting Kings Daughters School, Special Olympics, and the Best Buddies program. Registration: $30 (5k) / $15 (1k).

The Public Square Paving Project is Now Complete!
The City of Columbia is pleased to announce the completion of the Public Square resurfacing project, which included portions of South Main Street, North Main Street, East 7th Street, and West 7th Street.
The City sincerely thanks residents, business owners, and visitors for their patience and support throughout the project.
