Target’s Freezer Malfunction Leads to 4,000-Pound Meat Donation to The Well Outreach

From The Well Outreach’s post…

Imagine the worst day possible for a grocery retailer…. all your freezers go down! What do you do?

On Wednesday of this week that’s what happened to the Target/Crossings in Spring Hill. With nearly 4,000 pounds of meat at risk… what do you do?

You call The Well Outreach and ask if they can use a REALLY BIG meat donation, and because The Well recently got a refrigerated/freezer truck as part of a Maury County, Tennessee CDBG grant we were able to go pick up and transport that wonderful source of protein to our food pantries for our guests in need!

How cool is that timing?? Only GOD!!

We are so grateful for this opportunity.

Thank you Target for turning lemons into lemonade and meat into meals for local families and Seniors in crisis.

Historic Rose Hill Cemetery Honored with New TN Historical Marker

From Mayor Chaz Molder’s post from Friday…

Rose Hill Cemetery is the site of many of our community’s forefathers. And, remains an active cemetery today. We were pleased to gather this morning to recognize the recently installed TN Historical Marker recognizing the historical significance Rose Hill plays in our community’s past and in turn, its future, too.

This event also provided the opportunity to highlight the joint partnership which the City of Columbia and Maury County governments have recently entered into to help maintain and preserve Rose Hill assets. We must do all we can to ensure preservation of important sites like Rose Hill, Rose Mount and beyond.

On a personal note, we laid my mother to rest at this cemetery two weeks ago. Funny how things work. I’ve been a supporter of this Cemetery for a long time. I guess it was always meant to be. Thanks mom!

Have a good weekend, Columbia. Remember, we are a city that has an eye towards the future w an understanding of our past. Today’s event was Exhibit A to that notion. —CM
