American Idol Finalists Take the Stage at Franklin’s Summer Bash on July 12

The 3rd Annual Franklin Summer Bash returns to Liberty Hall at The Factory at Franklin on Saturday, July 12, featuring some of this season’s most popular American Idol finalists. Confirmed performers include Thunderstorm Artis, Mattie Pruitt, Josh King, Kolbi Jordan, Canaan James Hill, Filo, and Drew Ryn. Fan favorite Kayko, from last season, will host and perform as a special guest.
This high-energy summer concert has become a local tradition, spotlighting top American Idol talent and drawing national media attention. VIP packages are available, offering fans meet-and-greet photo ops with artists and exclusive keepsakes.
New this year: all tickets include theater seating, replacing the standing-room-only setup of past events. Organizers recommend buying tickets early, as a sell-out is expected. Tickets are available now at FranklinSummerBash.com.
Past lineups have included standout finalists such as Jack Blocker, Kaibrienne, McKenna Breinholt, Mia Matthews, Quintavious, and The Voice finalist Maddi Jane. The first Franklin Summer Bash in 2023 featured Megan Danielle, Haven Madison, and Tyson Venegas.
“We’re so excited to be bringing Franklin Summer Bash back to the Nashville market for the 3rd year in a row,” said Brian Mayes, CEO of Frankland Events. “This event gets bigger and better every year.”
Emerald Ash Borer Spreads to Nashville Region, Threatening Millions of Trees
Trees play a vital role in Tennessee’s environment—providing clean air, natural shade, and scenic beauty. But a fast-moving threat is putting millions of them in danger.
The Emerald Ash Borer, an invasive beetle from Asia, has now reached the greater Nashville area. This small green insect, about an inch long, targets ash trees by burrowing into their bark and consuming the cambium layer—the part of the tree responsible for transporting water and nutrients. Once the cambium is damaged, the tree slowly dies.
Ash trees make up about 13% of the state’s tree population, meaning the impact of this infestation will be widespread. In many areas, the signs of damage are already visible: dead or dying trees riddled with small holes in their bark, a telltale sign of Emerald Ash Borer activity. Experts say that by the time those holes appear, it's often too late to save the tree.
There are, however, some treatment options that can offer protection if applied early. One approach involves injecting insecticide directly into the trunk, which can protect a tree for up to three years. Another method uses a topical spray, although this needs to be reapplied annually. On properties where trees were treated in advance, many ash trees have survived, while those left untreated have not.
The cost of treating a tree is far less than the cost of removing a dead one, which can run hundreds or even thousands of dollars. Many in the tree care industry are encouraging homeowners to act now if they have ash trees on their property.
While the current focus is on preserving the trees that remain, there is hope that one day ash trees can be replanted. However, that won’t be possible until the Emerald Ash Borer infestation has run its course and the risk has diminished.
