Spring Hill Police Arrest Second Suspect in June 6 Gunfire Incident

On June 16th, Spring Hill Police Department detectives, with assistance from the Clarksville Police Department, arrested La’Taveious Lee, 18, in Clarksville, Tennessee.

Lee, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, is charged with two counts of reckless endangerment in connection with a June 6 shooting on Shandor Street.

According to investigators, Lee and a 17-year-old juvenile — who was arrested June 12 — exchanged gunfire following a planned drug deal that went bad. The investigation is still ongoing and more charges may be pending.

Spring Hill Invests in Historic Rippa Villa’s Growth, Visitor Center on the Way

Spring Hill is moving forward with long-term plans to preserve and promote one of its most historically significant landmarks — Rippa Villa. The city has renewed its partnership with the Battle of Franklin Trust, the nonprofit group responsible for managing the former 1850s-era plantation. This new agreement secures the relationship for another decade.

Alongside the contract extension, the city plans to fund the development of a new visitor center on the site. The project is intended to deepen the community’s ability to explore and share local history, with a particular focus on the early days of Maury County and the events leading up to the Civil War.

Funding for the new facility will come from existing hotel and tourism tax revenues, which are already dedicated to supporting Rippa Villa and other cultural resources.
