Ulta Heist Leads to Major Retail Theft Arrest in Spring Hill

Two men have been arrested in Spring Hill in connection with a nationwide organized retail theft operation. The arrests followed an undercover sting at The Crossings, where 30-year-old Pedro Gonzalez was seen leaving an Ulta store with a bulging backpack. Police stopped the car he was in, driven by 35-year-old Yandy Ortiz, and found both a backpack and duffel bag filled with stolen merchandise. Gonzalez, a Cuban national, is linked to at least 88 thefts across the country, involving more than $133,000 in stolen goods. Both men are being held in Maury County Jail on felony theft and organized retail crime charges, and Arizona authorities are also seeking Gonzalez’s extradition.

Over 60 Bags of Trash Collected in Successful East Columbia Cleanup

From City of Columbia, TN - Government’s post

The Clean Up Columbia campaign’s East Columbia Community Cleanup was a tremendous success, with over 60 bags of trash collected throughout the area!

This impactful event was made possible thanks to the efforts of Keep Maury Beautiful, Inc., the Triple C’s Columbia Community Cleanup Team, and the many community members, businesses, and organizations who showed up to participate.

The cleanup was a powerful reminder of what can be accomplished when a community comes together. Columbia is now cleaner, brighter, and more beautiful thanks to everyone's hard work and shared pride in making a difference.

The City looks forward to keeping the momentum going—join the next cleanup on April 26th in the Columbia Arts District and help make an impact once again!
