New 9-1-1 Spinoff to Film in Nashville, Premiering on ABC

A new primetime drama is heading to Nashville, as ABC has officially ordered 9-1-1: Nashville, the latest installment in the popular 9-1-1 franchise. Set to premiere during the 2025-26 season, the series will be filmed in Music City, bringing high-intensity first responder action to a new Southern backdrop.

This new spinoff follows the success of 9-1-1 and 9-1-1: Lone Star. The original 9-1-1, set in Los Angeles, launched in 2018 and became a hit for its dramatic portrayals of firefighters, paramedics, and police officers responding to life-threatening emergencies. 9-1-1: Lone Star, which premiered in 2020 and recently wrapped after five seasons, shifted the action to Texas, following a diverse team of first responders in Austin.

For its next expansion, the franchise considered several locations, including Las Vegas and Hawaii, before ultimately selecting Nashville. The decision was influenced by Tennessee’s tax incentives and the city’s unique blend of culture and history. While Nashville has been home to past television hits like Nashville, it has not been as frequently featured in network dramas as Atlanta or Memphis, making this series a fresh addition to the city’s entertainment scene.

9-1-1: Nashville is produced by 20th Television in association with Ryan Murphy Television. The creative team includes franchise co-creators Ryan Murphy and Tim Minear, along with 9-1-1: Lone Star showrunner Rashad Raisani. Angela Bassett, a star and executive producer of 9-1-1, will also serve as an executive producer for the new series.

The new show will join the flagship 9-1-1, which remains on ABC and is expected to return for a ninth season. With production based in Nashville, residents can expect to see more of their city on the small screen while the franchise continues to grow its fan base in a new region.

New Nissan Stadium Construction on Track for 2027 Opening

Construction on the $2.1 billion New Nissan Stadium, which began in February 2024, is progressing on schedule. Recent updates highlight the start of the steel phase, with significant progress expected in the coming months.

The stadium is a key part of Nashville’s East Bank Development, envisioned as a vibrant hub for local residents with green spaces and family-friendly amenities. While a new Tennessee Performing Arts Center was initially planned for the East Bank, delays have led TPAC to consider other locations.

The stadium, set to open in spring 2027, will host the Tennessee Titans and 40-50 major events annually, featuring improved facilities such as expanded restrooms and no-cashier concessions.

Henry Horton State Park to Receive Major Upgrades, Including New Lodge

Tennessee State Parks officials have announced major upgrades at Henry Horton State Park, including a brand-new 76-room lodge, an improved park entrance, and enhanced accessibility features. These changes are part of a master plan aimed at making the Duck River a focal point for visitors while modernizing the park’s facilities.

The project will involve the demolition of older structures, such as the former restaurant, the existing lodge, and the swimming pool. Construction will be carried out in phases to reduce disruptions, ensuring that the current lodge remains operational until the new one is complete.

Additional upgrades include ongoing improvements to the Visitor Center, restaurant, and recreational areas, reinforcing the park’s role as a key destination for both locals and travelers. Park officials have expressed excitement about the enhancements and plan to keep the community informed as the work progresses.

The new lodge will provide scenic views of the surrounding landscape, featuring indoor and outdoor gathering spaces, meeting rooms, guest accommodations, a breakfast and social area, a gift shop, and a private pool for lodge guests.

Henry Horton State Park, originally established in the 1960s on the former estate of Tennessee Governor Henry Horton, sits along the ecologically significant Duck River. Recently, Governor Bill Lee reinforced its conservation status through an Executive Order, securing the area’s future as a treasured natural space.
