First Responders Urge Columbia Residents to Avoid Travel
From City of Columbia, TN - Government’s post…
As temperatures continue to drop this evening, treacherous sheets of ice are beginning to form on the roadways. First responders are urging all Columbia residents to avoid travel unless absolutely necessary.
The city would like to thank residents for their cooperation in staying off the roads and keeping their families safe. This simple action is helping to ensure the safety of everyone in our community as crews work around the clock to treat and clear roadways.
For non-emergency assistance please call 931-388-2525.
*Road conditions on state highways and major roads can be checked online using the Tennessee Department of Transportation's Smartway cameras.
Just up the road… Franklin police and fire departments responded to several crashes caused by snow and ice, including a non-injury collision on northbound Interstate 65. They are also urging residents to avoid driving as road conditions worsen.
Please stay safe, Columbia!
