Hoover Family Lights Up the Season with Their Free & Festive 80,000-Light Display

Since 2005, when 16-year-old Chad Hoover created a display in Franklin with just under 10,000 computerized Christmas lights, the Hoover family has kept up the tradition through the years. After relocating to Chapel Hill, TN in 2019, the display now offers an impressive spread of 80,000 lights. Visitors may park on the side of the road, tune to 87.9FM, and enjoy an exciting 20 minute performance of lights dancing to music.

How much does it cost?

The show is absolutely free! This is our way of spreading Christmas cheer. We would like to encourage you to donate to your favorite charity.

What’s the radio station?

Tune your radio to 87.9 FM. The lights are sychronized to music!

What happens in case of rain?

Unfortunately electricity and water do not get along! Despite our best efforts to waterproof, heavy rain may cause parts of the show to stop working. Be sure to like our Facebook page for the latest information!

How long does the season run?

Opening night is the Friday after Thanksgiving. The final show of the season will be on New Year’s Eve.

Location:
1390 Neil Road
Chapel Hill, TN 37034
(26 minutes from Downtown Columbia)

Conway Boyz Release Third Book, The Magic Elf, at Local Signing Event

Young Authors Kanye and Ryon, known as the "Conway Boyz," are set to release their third book, The Magic Elf. These talented cousins are pursuing their dreams of becoming successful writers, actors, and movie producers. As the youngest male authors to host a book signing in Maury County, their dedication and creative achievements set a remarkable example.

Their first two books, Nightman and Mammon, are available for pre-order. Their latest work, The Magic Elf, will be featured at a book sale and signing event this Saturday at the Factory in Columbia, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The pair began writing when they were just eight years old, a journey supported and nurtured by their family. Their stories often incorporate biblical themes, integrating scripture and characters inspired by people in the Bible. Kanye and Ryon collaborate closely on their projects, with Kanye pitching ideas that the cousins develop together.

The Conway Boyz’s writing reflects a Manga-style storytelling approach, blending literary depth with engaging narrative structure. While Ryon is influenced by the graphic novels of Frank Miller, Kanye draws inspiration from creators like Todd McFarlane, Stan Lee, and Tom King’s Batman stories.

The family has been a steadfast source of encouragement, celebrating the boys’ unique focus and dedication to writing. Their creativity stands out as they work on stories together, crafting ideas and developing narratives.

This Saturday, the Conway Boyz will participate in the Minority-Owned Business Pop-Up event at the Factory, sharing their work and inspiring others with their remarkable journey.
