Over Half of Maury County Voters Cast Early Ballots, Ranks 4th in Tennessee for Turnout Growth

More than half of Maury County's registered voters participated in early voting, with 36,992 ballots cast by the October 31 deadline, according to the Maury County Election Commission. This strong turnout represents a 16.65% increase in early voting from the 2020 election, ranking Maury County fourth in growth rate among Tennessee’s 95 counties. Other counties with significant increases included Carter, DeKalb, and Greene.
Statewide, early and absentee voting reached 2,037,444 as of October 30, accounting for a 42.2% turnout, marking a modest 3.4% increase from 2020. However, some counties, Maury included, showed more notable jumps in voter engagement.
Maury County's Election Commission noted a busy early voting season, with turnout hovering around 51-52%. Final early voting results will be released after the general election on November 5.
New TOA Medical Facility Gets Go-Ahead in Spring Hill, With Conditions

Spring Hill’s Planning Commission conditionally approved the site plan for Tennessee Orthopedic Alliance’s (TOA) new medical office on Reserve Boulevard during its October 14 meeting. The plan outlines a 58,183-square-foot, two-story office building with 206 parking spaces and access points from both Reserve Boulevard and Vanguard Avenue. Planning staff noted issues with light overflow onto adjacent properties and requested modifications to address this, along with conditions for TOA to return with final design elevations and color details for the building.
During the meeting, representatives from Fulmer Lucas Engineering affirmed that the site plan aligned with Spring Hill's Unified Development Code, though further guidance from the planning staff was requested. Oman-Gibson Associates, the developer, raised concerns about cross-access with adjoining properties due to patient mobility issues, but the commission maintained its standard for requiring cross-access.
Additionally, the commission deferred a preliminary plat modification for the Notting Hills subdivision, citing unresolved issues in the application. Notting Hills, approved in September 2021, is planned to include 59 single-family lots within R-2 zoning. Planning staff observed that some lots did not meet the required 75-foot minimum width and cited other unaddressed adjustments related to street improvements along Buckner Road, pedestrian crosswalks, and roadway alignment with adjacent developments.
