Join the 4th Annual No Trash November: 5 Simple Ways to Get Involved

TDOT’s 4th annual No Trash November is here, with volunteers across Tennessee coming together to tackle litter before friends and families visit for the holiday season. Whether you’re part of a group or an individual committed to a cleaner state, this is your opportunity to make an impact.

Here are 5 ways to get involved in No Trash November:

  1. Don’t Litter – Lead by Example
The most effective way to reduce litter is by avoiding it altogether. Be mindful of your trash and dispose of it properly in dumpsters, trash cans, or recycling bins. Learning how to handle hazardous waste or tires can make a big difference. The blog at nobodytrashestennessee.com is a great resource for helpful information.

  2. Pick Up Litter When You See It
Every piece of trash you collect makes your community cleaner. Carry a bag with you and make litter pickup a part of your routine.

  3. Join a Cleanup Event
Volunteer groups across Tennessee are hosting No Trash November cleanup events, which are open to everyone. You can join an event or even organize your own. It’s a great way to meet others and see immediate results from your efforts. Join this Keep Maury Beautiful event on November 2nd.

  4. Earn Rewards with Trash Masters
This year introduces the Trash Masters Rewards program, where participants earn points for actions like attending cleanups or promoting litter prevention. Points can be redeemed for local discounts and exclusive merchandise, with double points available throughout November.

  5. Spread the Word
Raise awareness by sharing the No Trash November message with your network and encouraging others to join in. Use the hashtags #NobodyTrashesTennessee and #NoTrashNovember to support the cause on social media.

Every action, big or small, helps in the effort to keep Tennessee litter-free. Join the movement and help make a difference this November. To learn more, visit nobodytrashestennessee.com. To find an existing cleanup in your community or to register your own event, visit the event calendar. For groups with members 12 and older who wish to commit to quarterly cleanups, participating in the Adopt-A-Highway program will earn them both a patch and a roadway recognition panel.
