Columbia Installs Fast-Charging Stations to Support Electric Vehicle Growth
Columbia officials celebrated the installation of new fast-charging stations for electric vehicles, a significant step toward supporting EV drivers in the city. The stations, funded by a grant from the Tennessee Valley Authority and the Department of Environmental Conservation, are located in the Maury County Parking Lot at the corner of Woodland and East 7th Streets. This initiative is part of a statewide effort to establish an EV charging network, aimed at reducing range anxiety and boosting tourism. Mayor Chaz Molder emphasized the importance of such infrastructure for the future of EVs, particularly with General Motors aiming to go fully electric by 2035.
