High-Speed Pursuit Ends in Arrest of Maury County Man After Alleged Assault

A Maury County man, Bradley Lindsay Jr., was arrested after leading police on a high-speed chase on August 6. The 25-year-old allegedly assaulted a Columbia woman before fleeing in a stolen Mercedes, reaching speeds of 120 mph. Footage obtained by WKRN News 2 shows that Lindsay evaded officers from multiple agencies, driving recklessly, running stop signs, and crashing through fields and fences. Despite efforts to stop the vehicle, Lindsay fled on foot but was eventually captured. He faces multiple felony charges, including evading arrest, domestic assault, and theft. Lindsay declined to comment on the incident.

Driver Services Center to Close for One Day Equipment Upgrade

In Middle Tennessee, the Department of Safety and Homeland Security’s Cookeville, McMinnville, Dickson, Fayetteville, Columbia and Shelbyville Driver Services Centers and 12 Driver Services partner locations will close this week for a one-day installation of new credentialing equipment and new self-service kiosks.

Columbia Driver Services Center - 1701 Hampshire Pike will be closed on Wednesday, September 25th.

The new self-service kiosks can be used to complete many Driver Services transactions including renewing or replacing a duplicate Driver License or ID Card, changing an address, updating emergency contact information, advancing a Teen/Graduated Driver License, paying reinstatement fees, and requesting a license reissue after reinstatement requirements are met. The new kiosks can take photos and process payments with Apple Pay, Google Pay, or a credit or debit card.

For more information on Tennessee Driver Services including the new self-service kiosks visit tn.gov/safety/driver-services.html.

🏐 Saturday: Hustle Factory Volleyball Club Hosts Tryouts in Spring Hill and Columbia

Are you looking for a place where young athletes can grow not only in their volleyball skills but also as individuals? Discover Hustle Factory Volleyball Club (HFVC).

Located at Hustle Factory Sports Complex in Spring Hill and their new branch in Columbia, HFVC offers an inclusive environment for girls ages 7-18 to thrive both on and off the court.

Founded in 2022 by Tim Cooper, HFVC aims to inspire and challenge players, fostering growth in all aspects of life. Tim’s extensive background, including playing and coaching volleyball for nearly a decade, informs the club’s holistic approach. His experiences range from coaching beginners to college athletes and even leading teams in international competitions in Thailand and West Africa.

“Hustle Factory helped our daughter grow in her confidence as an athlete. She was taught skill and was challenged in ways that made her want to improve.”
-Katie Day (parent)

“Our club is distinctive from other volleyball and youth sports clubs in that we are focused on the individual’s holistic development. While developing their athletic skills is a priority for our club it does not override the importance of character development and helping them to mature into kind, responsible and confident adults. We believe that a coach is able to connect with young athletes in a way parents, teachers and peers cannot. Our coaches are trained and encouraged to look for teachable moments and to develop healthy coach/player relationships throughout the season.”

Keeping volleyball affordable and accessible is one of our priorities and we are proud to say we have not raised our club costs in 3 seasons. Over 50% of our families chose to participate in fundraisers last season which helped cover a significant portion of their athletes club dues.

“When we were just bringing our daughter for tryouts I was so impressed that after one day the coaches were calling the girls by name and other girls were actually encouraging each other rather than competing against one another.”
-Katie Day (parent)

“I have grown so much since starting at Hustle Factory two years ago. It has helped me to grow in confidence in my abilities on and off the court. The coaches and my teammates have taken great care to help me improve my strengths and weaknesses. It has helped create a growth in trusting my teammates to have my back. This program has built bonds and relationships that will last a lifetime for me. I love my coaches and I love my teammates that have become friends. It has also helped me with my discipline within myself.”
