North Chickamauga Creek Gorge Designated as Tennessee’s Newest State Park

From Tennessee State Parks’ Instagram post:

It’s a great day for conservation in Tennessee! North Chickamauga Creek Gorge, formerly a state natural area, has been officially designated as a state park.

Just 15 miles north of Chattanooga, this stunning park safeguards nearly 6,000 acres of dramatic sandstone bluffs and North Chickamauga Creek—a Tennessee State Scenic River. A sanctuary for wildlife, including rare and endangered species, this breathtaking area plays a significant role in our mission to preserve and protect.

As a developing park, staff are working hard to manage increased visitation. Please note that parking is limited and fills up quickly, especially during peak times on weekends. If visiting, we encourage planning earlier in the day or on weekdays.

Plan Your Trip to the Pumpkin Patch!

Even a tiny weather shift can get some of us excited for fall! Here’s a list of nearby pumpkin patches so you can plan ahead…

Pumpkin Paradise
Sept. 28th through Nov. 2nd
3005 Sheegog Ln, Columbia

“Pumpkin Paradise isn’t your typical pumpkin patch. While some patches offer a few of the things we do - none quite compares to visiting the Farm. Here you’ll experience a warm family welcome as you’re greeted and given the opportunity to explore our family’s farm with your family.

Our children need to know how and where their food comes from!! They need to know the connection to the plants and animals that we have for food. We’ve included local middle Tennessee history, educational tools, sensory seeking activities AND tons of fun that you parents can enjoy - not just sit on the sidelines!

Go ahead and call your best friend, plan your weekend at the Farm and order your tickets ahead for an adventure that’s smooth as pumpkin pie.”

Hidden Bee Farm
Sept. 20th - Opening day
753 Carters Creek Pike, Columbia

“Our animals are very excited to see you all, we will have pumpkins, hay rides, hay maze, our escape room, games, food trucks, crafting activities and so much more this year!!”

Gentry Farm
Sept. 28 - Oct. 28
1974 Highway Ninety Six West, Franklin, TN

“A visit to the Gentry Farm has become a long-standing family tradition for many each Fall! We are a working farm and center our activities around making family memories and creating fun educational opportunities. Rather than carnival rides and petting zoos, we focus on hands on learning and imaginative play.” Activities include an inside maze, grain barn, farm arcade, tire swings, animals, wagon rides, a corn field maze and more!

Lucky Ladd Farms
Sept 21 - Nov 1
4374 Rocky Glade Rd, Eagleville, TN

“This fall bring the entire family to Lucky Ladd Farms for a harvest-time experience like no other. Enjoy all that autumn has to offer as the leaves begin to change in the cool crisp air; explore the corn maze, pick your pumpkins, bite into a juicy caramel apple and discover why Lucky Ladd Farms has become a family tradition for so many.

Featured as one of the ‘TOP FIVE BEST pumpkin farm events in the south,’ Lucky Ladd's Fall Festival is a "MUST DO" on your bucket list for fall family fun in Nashville, Franklin, Spring Hill, Mt. Juliet, Shelbyville and Murfreesboro TN.”
