Columbia Lions Club Delivers 120 Gift Cards For Patients at Children’s Hospital

Members of the Columbia Lions Club delivered 120 gift cards to Social Workers for the Pediatric Cancer Unit at Monroe Carell Jr. Children Hospital at Vanderbilt. The gift cards are available to needy patients and their families to help offset some of the out of pocket cost associated with their hospital stay.
Vehicle Burglaries in Spring Hill Early Saturday Morning

From the Spring Hill Police Department Facebook post on Saturday morning:
“Police Activity - Officers have been receiving reports of vehicle burglaries in the circled area of the picture (Port Royal Rd./ Commonwealth Drive. Officers did locate possible suspects, gave chase on foot, but have not been able to apprehend them. We are in the area using a drone. A ski mask and a handgun were recovered in a field (near Commonwealth Drive) where the suspects were seen running.
Three suspects were seen on camera wearing dark clothing, blue gloves, and ski masks.
Update (8am) - After searching for hours the suspects were not apprehended. If you live in this area please check your vehicles for anything stolen and report if you chose to do so. Officers will be in the area on normal patrol.”
The comments on the SHPD Facebook post shared a bit more information on what happened. Here are two examples:
“I was watching it all happen on my balcony last night. Front row seats. The helicopter kept looping back around and shining a spotlight, the drone moved 10 feet back and forth in the same spot, and all the cops that made a perimeter sat there with spotlights shining into the woods. Nobody attempted going in, no dogs were used, no “we have you surrounded; come out with your hands up” was said. Just shining bright lights for an hour.” - Madison Harvill
“They were in our challenger too. We live on villa place. (parallel to cadence dr.) STOLE ALL THE CHANGE.” - Monica Black
