Acton TriStar Academy: A One-Room Schoolhouse for the 21st Century
Acton TriStar Academy, located in Spring Hill, is redefining education with a unique approach that empowers children to take charge of their learning.
Acton TriStar Academy is part of a network of over 300 Acton Academies around the world. Led by Rachel Ogden at the Spring Hill location, the school aims to inspire every child to find their calling and make a positive impact on the world.
Rachel’s journey began when she witnessed her daughter struggling with traditional homework. This experience brought back memories of her own childhood struggles with feeling "not smart." Determined to find a better way, Rachel discovered Acton Academy, an educational model that transformed her daughter’s academic and personal growth. This profound impact inspired Rachel to open Acton TriStar Academy to extend the benefits to other families.

Rachel Ogden with the heroes at Acton Tristar Academy
Acton TriStar Academy stands out by putting the child, referred to as a "hero," at the center of the learning experience. Unlike traditional schools, the academy avoids terms like “student” or “classroom,” fostering a culture of respect and self-worth. Heroes at Acton are encouraged to rise in confidence and excitement as they engage in their educational journey.
Some of the ways that make Acton Academy different include inspirational launches to start the day, promoting a growth and entrepreneurial mindset, social and emotional character development, and Socratic discussions which build critical thinking. The focus is on holistic development, ensuring heroes grow mentally, academically, and socially.
Community involvement is also important at Acton TriStar Academy. Last year, heroes participated in various volunteer activities, such as cleaning a local park, packing Jet Packs for The Well Outreach, and creating Christmas cards for residents at a retirement home in Columbia.
To learn more about Acton TriStar Academy and its innovative educational approach, attend their upcoming Open House Info Session on July 24th at 2:00 pm.
