Highway 70 Yard Sale Spans from Nashville to Memphis
Thrift shoppers and deal hunters will be excited to know that the annual Highway 70 yard sale, a tradition spanning over two decades, is taking place from June 6-8. This event stretches between Nashville and Memphis, featuring a variety of antique collections and flea markets along the route.
Sellers do not need to register to participate, although businesses are not allowed to set up as vendors. However, businesses can promote special sales at their stores if they align with the yard sale's atmosphere, as stated on the official sale Facebook group.
Barbra Pomeroy, one of the organizers, highlighted the continuity of the event, noting that it has been successfully managed by only a small number of organizers each year. Sellers are not obligated to participate for the entire duration of the sale, and the event is coordinated through the public Facebook group rather than any municipal body.
Key details about the sale:
Dates: June 6-8. Vendors may set up according to their own schedules, with some starting a few days early and others staying a few days after the official event ends.
Location: U.S. Route 70 is a major highway running from Globe, Arizona, to Atlantic, North Carolina, passing through New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Tennessee. In Tennessee, it runs between the Memphis-Arkansas Bridge in Memphis and the North Carolina state line in eastern Cocke County. Key stops along the way include Brownsville, Jackson, Huntingdon, New Johnsonville, Waverly, and Dickson.
Setup Guidelines: Vendors are not required to set up directly on Highway 70 but are encouraged to stay close to the route for better buyer traffic.Friday: All Breed, Open Horse Show at PJ Farms

Sobriety Checkpoints This Weekend
The Tennessee Highway Patrol will be conducting sobriety roadside safety checkpoints during the week of June 7th on State Route 50 East, .2 Miles East of the 19 mile marker in Maury County starting at 10pm.
Impaired driving is a serious crime that kills more than 16,000 people and injures 305,000 people every year in the United States. Troopers will evaluate drivers for signs of alcohol or drug impairment. Troopers will target those who operate a vehicle while impaired and take corrective actions for other violations observed while ensuring the protection of all motorists.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol recognizes that sobriety checkpoints are highly visible and effective tools in the battle against impaired driving.
