Help is Still Needed for Tornado Victims

Creepy Hollow Haunted Woods Tornado Damage
The Tornado that hit Columbia on May 8th damaged at least 245 homes. And as life goes on for the rest of us, there are still many people who are putting their lives back together. They can use all the help they can get.
Several people have posted GoFundMe pages to help offset expenses:
Eden & Tysen Ellis lost their baby, born on May 12th via emergency c-section 6 weeks before his due date. Baby Wolfe fought hard for 31 hours. The parents had already been grieving the tragic loss of Tysen's father. During the storms and floods, they sustained substantial damage to their home, property, and many of Tysen's machines and equipment used to operate his business.
Ashley & Ross Petty had a tree fall on their house. The house has been completely shifted from its foundation and is beyond saving. “They have lost absolutely everything besides the clothes on their backs and their fur babies.”
Two Rivers Honey Bees, one of the largest producers of honey bees in middle Tennessee, has lost all of their storage buildings and most of the bees.
Brie Lovett lost her mother, Cheryl Lovett, in the storm and their family home was demolished - there was no home owner’s insurance. Brie has an 18-year-old daughter. “Please, help in anyway you can, whether its donating clothes or money, this family would be forever grateful. Thank you.” There is also a second GoFundMe page created by Brie’s workplace here.
Creepy Hollow Haunted Woods suffered extensive damage. “All of the structures that were part of the attraction are gone. The woods lost a lot of its trees. Creepy Hollow is family owned by Rocky and Debby Frisch and this is their only livelihood. Besides their passion for the Haunt, they also have a great passion for animals. They have personally rescued many dogs, cats and horses. They are currently caring for 9 dogs, 4 cats and 4 horses.”
If you’d like to give physical donations…
Premier Chiropractic is partnering with The Well Outreach this week and will be receiving donations at their locations in Columbia and Spring Hill.
What we are needing:
- Clothes of any size and age
- Hygiene products
- Cleaning products
- Diapers-all sizes
Donations are welcome whether physical or monetary.
If you are wanting to donate to their tornado relief fund, make the checks out to “The Well Outreach” or by clicking this link.
If you’d like to volunteer…
The Wellspring Christian Church is sending crews out at 8:30 AM DAILY (Monday - Saturday) alongside the International Disaster Emergency Service. Go to their page to sign up.
Help is still desperately needed at both 2130 and 2133 Joe Brown Road (Spirit Horse Stables and Creepy Hollow). Heavy equipment, chainsaws, and overall cleanup.
The Maury Baptist Association Disaster Relief team is planning to respond Monday and Tuesday (5/20 & 5/21) to a local resident in need. If you would like to join us, you do not have to have disaster relief training; just a strong back and willing heart. Please PM me for details so I can know to expect you. This announcement was made on Dale Ledbetter’s Facebook profile. We plan to work 1/2 days both days.
If you need or know someone who needs help cleaning up debris from the storm, call The Home Cleanup Hotline @ 615-488-1875. This is per the Office of Emergency Management

A head-on collision in the Water Valley community of Maury County on Sunday morning resulted in one fatality and another person being hospitalized. The Maury County Fire Department responded to the crash on Steam Mill Hollow Road just before noon, where they found two vehicles involved in the collision.
Among the five occupants in the two vehicles, one individual was pronounced dead at the scene. Another person was taken by Maury Regional EMS to a trauma center for treatment, while the remaining three occupants were unharmed.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation into the incident.
🎙 Open Mic Night Supporting Local Veterans
