Big Yard Sale Day For Columbia!

The Semi-Annual Elan Neighborhood Yard Sale is happening today from 8:00 am-5:00 pm on Pretender Way in Columbia at the following 9 house numbers:
1016, 1020, 1045, 1057, 1060, 1117, 1128,1133, 1164. (A yellow yard sale sign will be at the end of each one’s driveway.)
Household items: kitchen, bathroom, knick knacks, pictures, toys, furniture, jewelry, clothes, and much more!

Tennessee Fish Stocking News

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency will be stocking channel catfish in community fishing lakes in late April. The locations include Cameron Brown Lake in Germantown, Cedar Hill Lake in Nashville, Dickert Pond in Chattanooga, Greenbelt Lake in Maryville, and Fountain City Lake in Knoxville.
The regulations for the catfish are 5 per day. In addition to the catfish, other species and their limits are bluegill and redear (20 per day), black bass (1 per day), crappie (30 per day), and trout (5 per day). There are no size limits. The locations will be stocked again in May and June.
A fishing license is required at these locations. Children under 13 years of age are not required to have a license. For more information on where to fish, videos on how to fish, and fillet a catfish, visit https://www.gofishtennessee.com/.

Columbia State Community College Announces This Year’s Summer Camps

Columbia State Community College’s Columbia Campus is excited to announce summer camps for 2024.
The Game Design Unity Camp will run from June 10 - 14 for rising 6th through 8th grade students. Campers will craft virtual worlds, master optimization techniques and bring their video games to life with sounds and animations. Join us for an adventure in creativity and technology!
Rhythm Retreat – Music Camp will run from June 24 - 27 for rising 4th through 6th graders. Student participants will experience drumming, comprehend new piano skills, enjoy music games and take part in choral singing.
Innovate & Illuminate will run from July 8 – 12 for rising 6th through 8th graders. Participants will learn to make fun and useful projects using the fundamentals of circuit building and microcontroller programing.
