Loretta Lynn's Ranch Hosts 7th Annual Motorcycles and Music Festival

Get ready for a high-octane celebration at Tennessee's ultimate "Moto & Music" event. The seventh annual Tennessee Motorcycles and Music Revival (TMMR) is set to take place from May 16-19, 2024, at the 3,500-acre Loretta Lynn Ranch in Hurricane Mills (just over an hour from Columbia). This four-day extravaganza, presented by Harley-Davidson Motor Co.®, offers motorcycle enthusiasts a playground of racing, stunts, and custom bike showcases, alongside a lineup of top musical talent. You can get tickets now exclusively at www.motorcyclesandmusic.com.

Motorcycle fans will find plenty to enjoy at this festival, which includes Harley-Davidson demo rides, ADV trail riding, a hill climb, V-Twin Visionary performance bike show, biker games, group motorcycle rides, minibike races, stunt riders, and a display of hand-crafted custom motorcycles from across the country in the BC Moto Invitational.

In addition to the events, TMMR features a wide range of music genres on multiple stages, with artists like Elvie Shane, Whey Jennings, and Whitey Morgan. Expect performances from country, southern rock, bluegrass, and other genres throughout the four days.

The event also provides live music at the Speed Shack, located by the racetrack, and the Waterin’ Hole, a venue alongside Hurricane Creek. Besides offering a musical showcase, TMMR supports U.S. military veterans through collaborations with Special Ops Xcursions, providing complimentary tickets and camping for members of the U.S. Special Operations Forces (SOF). Helmets for Heroes will also auction off custom-painted ICON Motorsport helmets, with proceeds supporting military-related causes.

Accommodation options are varied, with three campgrounds offering RV, glamping, tent camping, and vehicle camping options. Nearby hotels and Airbnbs are also available for those who prefer off-site lodging.

The event's family ambassador and co-emcee Tayla Lynn, granddaughter of Loretta Lynn, alongside motorcycling legend Jay Allen, notes the significant effort that goes into making TMMR a memorable experience. Get ready to rock and ride at one of Tennessee's most exciting festivals.

The Maury County Horseman’s Association will host the 73rd Annual Columbia Spring Jubilee from May 30 through June 1, 2024, at Maury County Park. The event kicks off at 6:00 p.m. on May 30 and features 108 classes over the course of three days.

The horse show adheres to the State of Tennessee's livestock event regulations, the Department of Agriculture's guidelines, and the standards set by the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders’ and Exhibitors’ Association (TWHBEA) and the Walking Horse Trainers’ Association. This event is recognized as an International High Point Affiliated Horse Show. Judges for the show will include Scott Beaty, Scotty Brooks, and Justin Jenne.

This event is part of the annual Tennessee Walking Horse circuit, endorsed by the Walking Horse Owner’s Association (WHOA) and the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders’ and Exhibitors’ Association. Known for its smooth and easy gait, the Tennessee Walking Horse is a unique breed that combines Thoroughbred, Narragansett Pacer, Morgan, Standardbred, and American Saddlebred lineages.

The origins of the Tennessee Walking Horse trace back to 1886, with a stallion named Black Allen, who was bred to be a trotter but ended up pacing instead. Eventually, he was purchased by Albert Dement of Wartrace, Tennessee, who aimed to breed a horse with a gait between a trot and a pace. The result was the "running walk," which became the signature trait of the Tennessee Walking Horse.

In 1935, the breed's association was established, known today as the TWHBEA. This organization serves as the official registry for Tennessee Walking Horses, handling all valid registrations through a prescribed form, which must be accepted by the association's secretary.
