TriStar Health Proposes $250 Million Hospital in Spring Hill

TriStar Health has revealed its intentions to seek approval from the Tennessee Health Facilities Commission for the construction of a comprehensive acute care hospital in Spring Hill. The proposed $250 million facility, to be erected on the current site of the TriStar Spring Hill ER, aims to cater to the burgeoning healthcare needs of the community.

The envisioned TriStar Spring Hill Hospital is set to feature a range of essential services, including 68 beds, an Intensive Care Unit, a Labor and Delivery Unit, a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, four operating rooms, cardiac catheterization services, and imaging services such as MRI.

Mitch Edgeworth, President of HCA Healthcare TriStar Division, expressed pride in the emergency care provided to Spring Hill and neighboring areas over the past decade, emphasizing the necessity of closer access to comprehensive healthcare services as the population continues to surge.

With Spring Hill's population skyrocketing from under 9,000 residents in 2000 to over 50,000 in 2020, and projected to reach approximately 64,000 within the next five years, there is clearly a need. Notably, Spring Hill currently stands as Tennessee's largest city without a hospital.

Jim Hagaman, Mayor of Spring Hill, voiced full-fledged support for the initiative, highlighting not only the critical need for accessible healthcare but also the substantial economic benefits anticipated, including an estimated $870 million injection into the economy and the creation of over 3,000 new jobs in the first five years of operation.

To engage with the community and provide further information, TriStar Health will host a public information session on Tuesday, May 14, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Community Baptist Church. For additional details, visit TriStarSpringHillHospital.com.
