Unemployment Drops in Every County Across Tennessee

According to new data from the Department of Labor and Workforce Development Tennessee experienced a strengthening job market in February 2024, with employment figures improving statewide. The positive trend was reflected in the unemployment rates, which decreased across all 95 counties compared to the revised January numbers. This widespread decline led every county to report unemployment rates below 5 percent for the month.
Williamson County maintained its position near the top, boasting the state's second-lowest unemployment rate at 2.1 percent, a 0.4 percent drop from the previous month. Closely following was Rutherford County, where the rate dipped from 2.7 percent to 2.2 percent in February.
Davidson County, the state's most populous area, saw its jobless rate improve to 2.3 percent, marking a decrease from the 2.8 percent recorded in the same month of the previous year.
Leading the state was Moore County, which recorded Tennessee's lowest unemployment at 1.9 percent, a substantial 0.8 percent drop from its January figure.
In a three-way tie for the 8th spot, Maury, Hickman, and Wilson Counties all reported an impressive 2.3 percent unemployment rate for the month of February.
Mule Day Schedule For Friday

Mule Day: Gaited Mule Show Tonight

What is a Gaited Mule?
According to americangaitedmule.com - A gaited mule is any mule that has a smooth gait other than a walk, and one which is distinct from a trot. Gaits include single-foot, fox-trot, rack, running walk, stepping pace, and paso fino, among others. Whatever the gait may be called, its primary virtue is smoothness. A gaited mule (or horse) can be ridden farther without discomfort from bouncing while trotting, and at a more manageable pace than a canter. A gaited mule is great for trail riding, also.
Enjoy the show at 5PM in the Old Arena at Maury County Park!
