Survey Reveals 85% of Tennesseans Ready to Hit the Road for Spring Break

Winter is fading away, and as March 19 brings the first day of spring, Tennesseans are looking forward to longer, sunnier days and planning exciting travels in 2024.

A recent AAA travel survey indicates that 85% of state residents plan to venture beyond Tennessee this year, with 45% expressing a likelihood of traveling more than they did in the previous year. The survey further reveals that nearly one in three Tennesseans has concrete vacation plans for the upcoming Spring Break.

The peak of travel activity is expected between March and July, encompassing a wide array of destinations. According to AAA spokesperson Megan Cooper, popular choices for Spring Break trips among Tennesseans include beaches, major cities, theme parks, and national/state parks. Florida stands out as a perennial favorite, meeting the diverse preferences of those seeking beach getaways, Disney World experiences, or embarking on cruises from Florida ports.

The surge in travel is poised to impact both roadways and air travel hubs, particularly Nashville International Airport. Officials at the airport are gearing up for higher-than-normal traffic on both the airport premises and nearby roads throughout the month.

Identified as peak days for airline passengers at BNA, March 8, March 10, March 17, and March 31 are anticipated to see increased activity, marking a dynamic and bustling start to the spring travel season.

Need a Ride From Columbia to the Airport?

Depending on the time of day or night, an Uber can be hard to get in Columbia… it’s definitely tricky to schedule an early morning airport pickup with them… BUT there are a couple private services that will get you there!

Concierge Ride: A team of experienced drivers providing services in Nashville, Brentwood, Franklin, Spring Hill, Columbia, Nolensville, Arrington, College Grove, Chapel Hill, Leipers Fork and Williamson County. In business since 2016, they have grown to a team of six drivers and multiple cars.

“The difference between Concierge Ride TN and that of Uber or Lyft is simple… treating clients like a VIP. From opening doors for the client to having an umbrella on hand for rain, Davis spares no expense for the VIP experience.”

Columbia Cab Company: A local family owned and operated business providing airport trips 24/7. They also provide jump start services and will help unlock your vehicle if you get stuck! Cost is $2/mile. Call 931-446-9188 to schedule your trip.
