Pothole Update: TDOT Crews Working Overtime on Repairs

Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) crews are working diligently day and night to address potholes on interstates and state routes caused by January's severe winter storm. Utilizing all available resources, including contract crews, the statewide effort aims to swiftly repair the damaged areas. This January and February, TDOT has deployed more than double the amount of mix compared to the same period last year.

As weather conditions allow, TDOT will continue pothole repairs in the upcoming days and weeks. The focus will shift to more permanent fixes in the spring and early summer when asphalt plants consistently produce hot mix. In some locations, full-scale paving might be necessary.

Motorists should anticipate brief traffic delays during pothole repair operations. While efforts will be made to conduct repairs during off-peak hours (9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. weekdays), lane closures may extend into late afternoons, evenings, and weekends. Drivers are urged to be patient, exercise caution around TDOT crews on interstates and state highways, and adhere to the "Move Over, Slow Down" safety guidelines.

Drivers can report potholes by calling the TDOTFIX Hotline at 833-TDOTFIX or by submitting an online maintenance request form.

TODAY: Primary Election Voting

Election Day has arrived for the 2024 March 5 Presidential Preference Primary and County Primary Election, providing voters with the final opportunity to exercise their civic duty. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at designated locations in each district. Individuals unsure of their polling station can refer to their voter registration card or contact the Maury County Election Commission at www.MauryCounty-TN.gov or by calling (931) 375-6001.

Please note that the election commission's main facility will not offer voting on Tuesday. Voters have the choice of using a paper ballot, approved by the Election Commission in 2022. This method involves completing a paper ballot and then inserting it into a tabulator machine for counting and processing, similar to the traditional voting machine process.

The primary encompasses elections for U.S. President, as well as various seats on the Maury County School Board and Circuit Court Judge for District 22. School board Districts 2 and 10, along with the Property Assessor positions, lack Republican or Democratic candidates but will feature Independent candidates on the August general election ballot.

To access polling locations and information, voters are encouraged to download the Tennessee Secretary of State's "Go Vote TN" app on their smartphones. For additional details, please visit govotetn.com. More information is available on the Maury County Election website at https://www.maurycounty-tn.gov/227/Election-Commission.
