50 New Jobs on the Horizon with Armada Nutrition’s $5 Million Expansion in Spring Hill

Armada Nutrition LLC, a subsidiary of Japan's Nagase & Co., is set to invest $5 million in expanding its production facilities in Spring Hill, creating 50 new jobs in the process. The announcement was made by Gov. Bill Lee, Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Stuart C. McWhorter, and officials from Armada Nutrition.
Expressing gratitude for Armada Nutrition's commitment, Governor Lee highlighted the positive impact on Spring Hill and Maury County families. The expansion is expected to leverage the exceptional local workforce, providing highly skilled positions and contributing to the region's economic success.
Specializing in the manufacture of high-quality nutritional powders for national and global nutrition brands, Armada Nutrition currently develops, processes, and packages its products exclusively in Spring Hill.
Armada Nutrition President Josh Lanagan emphasized the company's dedication to innovation and meeting the growing demand for premium nutritional solutions. Lanagan sees the investment not just as an expansion of capacity but also as a commitment to people, creating 50 new jobs with promising career opportunities.
State leaders, including Sen. Joey Hensley and Rep. Scott Cepicky, welcomed the expansion as a boost for Maury County's economic growth and a testament to the region's appeal for cutting-edge manufacturing. They expressed enthusiasm for the positive impact on job creation and the continued success of Armada Nutrition in the area.
This expansion by Armada Nutrition adds to the economic development projects in Maury County since 2020, supported by the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (TNECD). These initiatives have resulted in approximately 3,400 job commitments and $4.8 billion in capital investment, showcasing the region's growth and attractiveness for businesses.
Latest Developments in TDOT’s Pothole Repair Efforts

Credit: TDOT
The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) is engaged in continuous efforts to repair potholes on interstates and state routes, a consequence of the significant winter storm last month that brought record-breaking snowfall within a 24-hour period, exceeding typical winter accumulations. The statewide initiative involves round-the-clock work by TDOT crews, utilizing all available resources, including contract crews, to swiftly address the damaged areas. Notably, TDOT has tackled 50% more potholes in January 2024 compared to the same period in 2022 and 2023.
From January 22 to February 11, the repair efforts have been quantified by region, with notable quantities of hot mix and cold patch materials used:
Region 1: 1,221,614 pounds
Region 2: 469,108 pounds
Region 3: 2,015,500 pounds
Region 4: 1,720,340 pounds
Statewide: 5,426,562 pounds
As weather conditions permit, TDOT will persist in road repairs in the upcoming days and weeks, with plans for more permanent fixes in spring and early summer when asphalt plants consistently produce hot mix. In certain locations, full-scale paving may be required.
Motorists are advised to anticipate brief traffic delays during pothole repair operations. Although efforts will be made to conduct repairs during off-peak travel times (9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on weekdays), some lane closures may extend into late afternoons, evenings, and weekends. Drivers are urged to exercise patience and exercise caution for TDOT crews working on interstates and state highways. The directive to "Work with Us – move over, slow down" is emphasized.
To report potholes, drivers can contact the TDOTFIX Hotline at 833-TDOTFIX or submit an online maintenance request form. Real-time road conditions and SmartWay traffic camera feeds can be accessed at www.TNSmartWay.com/Traffic. Additionally, travelers can dial 511 for travel information or follow TDOT on Twitter at https://twitter.com/myTDOT for statewide travel updates.
Columbia Academy’s Winning Streak Snapped by Webb in 66-58 Region Semifinals

Columbia Academy's 12-game winning streak came to an end in a 66-58 loss to Webb in the Division II-A Middle Region Tournament semifinals. The defeat means Columbia Academy (24-5) will travel for the initial rounds of the DII-A State XII tournament, with potential later rounds at Tennessee Tech's Eblen Center on March 1-2.
Webb (19-11), despite losing two regular-season games to Columbia Academy, adopted a fresh start approach after a third-place finish in the District 3 tournament. This mindset, coupled with an early lead, kept the Bulldogs off-balance.
Columbia Academy struggled against Webb's zone defense, and Coach Jarrett Jones acknowledged the opponent's effectiveness in making them uncomfortable on the court. Hindered by foul trouble and injuries, Columbia Academy briefly took a 49-48 lead with 6:17 to play but couldn't capitalize. Webb secured an 11-1 run, sealing the win.
Webb, having lost two prior matchups to Columbia Academy, will now face Providence Christian in the championship game, while Columbia Academy meets Goodpasture in a consolation game.
