Home School Soap Making Class

Credit: Mariko Giverink on Facebook

Wednesday March 20 from 10-11:30am at Glove Box, inside the Factory at Columbia.

Mariko Giverink has been asked by several home school moms to teach this class, so here it is!

This class is open to school age students ages 7-18.

From the facebook announcement: There was a time when making soap was a common practice and I believe it's enriching for kids should learn things that were once considered basic homemaking skills.

We will be learning how to make soap the old fashioned way (not melt and pour). Everyone will go home with their own soap bars as well as my basic beeswax soap recipe (we're using wax from my own bee hives!) and step by step directions. We will also have a brief lesson on the history of soap.

Cost for this class is $20 and there is a sibling discount of $18.
