Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stop Set to Open June 24 in Cornersville

Travelers passing through southern Middle Tennessee will soon have a new place to stop, eat, and recharge when Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stop opens June 24 in Cornersville.

Located at Exit 22 along I-65 (about 30-35 minutes from downtown Columbia), the new travel center is designed to serve everyone from long-haul truck drivers to families on vacation, with a focus on comfort, good food, and a warm Tennessee welcome.

The flagship location will feature fuel services, a full-service restaurant and café, Dolly’s Cup of Ambition Coffee, and DLY BBQ. Visitors will also find exclusive merchandise and gathering spaces designed to encourage travelers to slow down and enjoy their stop.

Adding to the experience, the travel stop will include a custom mural celebrating Cornersville and a replica tour bus inspired by the buses Dolly Parton has traveled in throughout her career, giving guests a unique photo opportunity and a glimpse into life on the road.

The project was created through a partnership involving Dolly Parton, her longtime manager Danny Nozell, and Tennessean Travel Stop owner Gregory H. Sachs. Organizers say the goal is to create a roadside destination that feels less like a typical gas station and more like a welcoming place to rest, eat, and connect.

The Cornersville location is the first planned stop in what is expected to become a larger travel stop brand.

A public grand opening celebration is planned for June 24, with additional details expected to be announced soon. Local musicians interested in performing during opening week and future events are also being invited to apply here.

Travelers at BNA Face Changes as Major Terminal Renovation Gets Underway

Nashville International Airport has started another major construction project, with work now underway on a $40 million renovation inside the airport’s main terminal.

Beginning June 1, the airport closed its central core area to allow crews to upgrade a section of the terminal that includes the escalators connecting multiple levels of the building. Travelers can expect detours around the construction zone, and additional airport staff will be available to help passengers find baggage claim, security checkpoints and other key areas.

Airport leaders say the project is part of a larger effort to keep pace with continued growth at BNA. While the airport's expanded terminal lobby opened in 2023 as part of the BNA Vision project, passenger numbers have increased faster than originally projected.

Current forecasts now estimate that roughly 40 million passengers could travel through BNA annually by 2038, significantly higher than earlier projections. As a result, airport officials are continuing work on long-term improvements that include terminal upgrades, parking expansions and roadway enhancements.

The central core renovation is part of the airport's ongoing New Horizon expansion program and is expected to be completed by December 2027.
